1) If It Lets You Get Near It, Don't Touch It
Ground hogs can carry diseases like any other wild animal. If the ground hog on your property lets you get close, and it doesn't run away, it could be ill and it can cause harm to you if bitten. Give us a call to help remove it from the premises.
2) Don't Flood or Fumigate
You have probably read that one way to get rid of ground hogs is to flood their burrows with various liquids like water, oil or other chemicals. This is not advised because its not a humane way to remove the ground hog and depending on the chemical used, can cause damage to your yard and environment.
3) Be Wary of Chemical Treatments
Some resources will suggest using a granular chemical to pour down into the burrow of the ground hog. This method is not advised because the chemicals used to target the ground hog are also very harmful to humans. Give us a call so we can take care of the ground hog in a more humane way.
